Shipwreck from G.I. JOE

SHIPWRECK grew up in the shadow of the Navy, specifically the shadow of the sprawling San Diego Navy Yards. He enlisted at the youngest possible age with his parents' permission and proceeded to serve with distinction in the Mekong Delta where hand-to-hand fighting with river pirates, smugglers and insurgents was the order of the day. Put in time at several naval bases and was on hand at certain carrier-initiated operations in the Middle East.

Shipwreck predictably plays the “the loudmouth sailor” on the team. In the 80’s cartoon series he and his parrot named Polly often provide comic relief.

It doesn’t look like Shipwreck will be featured in the upcoming G.I. Joe live action movie. :-(

Inspector Sledge Hammer!

Sledge Hammer! was a satirical police sitcom for two seasons on ABC from 1986 to 1988. The series srated David Rasche as Inspector Sledge Hammer, Anne-Marie Martin as Officer Dori Doreau, and Harrison Page: as Captain Edmund Trunk
Hammer is definitely a “shoot first, ask question later” kind of cop who often uses excessive force. His best friend is a .44 Magnum who he routinely talks to.

The show was critically aclaimed, but never got good ratings, mainly due to the fact that during season 1 it went head to head with Miami Vice and Dallas, and in season 2 it went head to head against The Cosby Show.

The bumper sticker on Sledge’s car says: I Love Violence

HAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
